Workshop: Building a Sustainable Sensitive Data Masking and Compliance Program

Masking sensitive data – that is, replacing confidential details with fictitious but realistic values – is a best practice data security approach commonly employed in lower environments. But doing so efficiently, repeatably and at scale can be a daunting challenge. In this course, the Delphix Field Engineering team will show you how to build a data masking and compliance program, whether from scratch or by revamping your current approach, to meet the demands of your data owners, application teams and compliance mandates. The training will cover the common types of sensitive data; how to discover sensitive data in your data sources; how to mask the right sensitive data without destroying its utility for specific use cases; how to develop an enterprise-level data masking solution; and more. You’ll walk away with the knowledge and steps for a sustainable data masking program.

Achieving Compliance Through DevOps Pipelines

As shown by many studies, such as Puppet’s 2024 State of DevOps report, security and compliance are playing a vital role in DevOps. Fortunately, DevOps also presents many opportunities to enforce good security and compliance, starting with the development and testing environments themselves. In this session, you’ll see how to employ automation with infrastructure-as-code and data-as-code to improve data protection and privacy while ensuring compliance with standards and mandates such as GDPR, CCPA, DISA STIGs, Center for Internet Security Benchmarks, ISO 27001 and more.

Delivering Test Data Management as a Service

In an effort to drive consistency, compliance and quality at scale, many infrastructure and quality teams are delivering test data as repeatable, cost-effective shared services. They begin with defining test data management (TDM) as a service offering, clarifying its benefits for development teams (the consumers), defining a predictable pricing or costing model, and providing easier ways to request and consume the service. In this session, you learn best practices in delivering TDM to your enterprise and helping more teams improve the applications they deliver.

Automating the Full-Stack Development Platform to Shift Left

Enterprises are increasingly devoting more time and attention to their development, training, and testing environments. Security is an increasingly significant concern, and teams recognize that release quality and speed depend on the availability of compliant, production-like environments. Join this session to explore how industry leaders are introducing automation across the full development stack—from code to data to infrastructure. Attendees will gain insight into how their peers are uniting platform engineering with advanced testing tools to eliminate bottlenecks, shift quality to the left, and deliver more robust software.

Realizing ROI from DevOps

DevOps isn’t free. It requires an investment in people, technology and processes. Businesses increasingly adopt DevOps to shrink time-to-market, improve resilience and reliability, and (increasingly) address security and compliance requirements, among many other things. But how do you justify these investments? In this session, you’ll learn how DevOps TDM and infrastructure-as-code provide proven, measurable returns and how you can capture and communicate benefits. We’ll walk through two recent studies of Delphix and Puppet to reveal how organizations are realizing greater value than ever from their DevOps-related investments.
