Wayne has 40 years experience assisting food, consumer products, distribution and retail companies transform their businesses worldwide. Wayne has served as Chief Information Officer at three major public companies and as a member of the Board of Directors at two more. He is a Boardroom Certified Qualified Technology Expert (QTE). Wayne was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame in 2017.
In addition to technology, Wayne has held roles in Finance, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Shared Services. This cross functional experience enables him to contribute to strategy discussions and decision making across an organization.
Wayne serves on the following fiduciary boards:
• Armstrong World Industries (NYSE - AWI), where he is Chairman of the Compensation Committee and serves on the Audit Committee. AWI is the global leader in ceiling solutions
• Stater Bros Markets a privately held grocery retailer operating in Southern California
• In 2015, Wayne served on the board of directors of Con-Way Inc, until it was acquired by XPO Logistics
Wayne serves on the following advisory boards:
• MGX Beverage Group a family (3rd generation) alcohol import and distribution business.
• Jake’s Finer Foods a family (3rd generation) food service distribution business
• Seton Hall University’s Analytics Advisory Board
From 2012 to 2019, Wayne was Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Sysco Corporation ($59b revenue), the global leader in the Food Service Distribution industry. At Sysco, Wayne led the transformation of the technology function into a business focused, solutions based organization that applied technology, data and analytics to improve Sysco’s operations and customer experience. Wayne built a leading cyber security program and organization at Sysco. Technology played a key role in Sysco achieving a 3-year operating income increase of $665m (15% CAGR).
Prior to Sysco, Wayne was Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at SUPERVALU, then a $38b USA grocery retailer and wholesaler.
