Ralph Loura is an accomplished leader who provides support, guidance and strategy to businesses, boards and individual leaders. He is known for a strong combination of technology expertise and business acumen, having led large and small teams across several industries and having advised early and late-stage startups and large public companies alike.
Ralph’s dynamic career spans multiple industries where he consistently generated business value in complex and varied environments. He has broad experience across Tech, Life Sciences, e-Commerce and CPG business models. He is particularly known for creating and developing great teams. He has been a catalyst for positive changes over the course of his career and has led several IT organizations through times of significant change where time and again he has demonstrated his ability in adapting/maturing technology organizations to solve business issues while managing costs and risks.
Ralph’s CIO career includes roles such as SVP CIO for Lumentum. SVP CTO for Rodan and Fields, SVP CIO for HP, SVP CIO for Clorox, SVP CIO for Medicis, CIO for Symbol Technologies and Director roles at Cisco, DE Shaw and Company, Lucent Technologies and AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Ralph serves on several boards and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of SustainableIT.org which he helped to form, as an advisor to ConsolUSA, Securiti, BeyondID, Raindrop and several other startups. He was a founding board member of the TBM Council, where he served as a board member for 10 years. He is the founding chair of Insight’s BayAreaCIO chapter in the South Bay, former chair of the San Francisco chapter of the Fisher CIO Forum and is active in several peer CIO groups.
Ralph has received numerous industry awards over his career, most recently CIO Magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame award, Inspire CIO’s Bay Area CIO of the Year Leadership ORBIE and HMG Strategy’s Transformational CIO award.
Ralph holds a Masters of Science in computer science from Northwestern University and a Bachelors in Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Saint Joseph’s College.
