David Smith is an accomplished Senior Manager of Middleware Engineering with nearly five years of dedicated service at the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP). With a passion for cutting-edge technology, David specializes in designing, developing, delivering, and maintaining state-of-the-art middleware technologies. 

David has a wide range of technical experience including programming languages, systems, networking, application, security and troubleshooting. His breath of knowledge allows him to understand all components of an environment including the finer inner workings of applications and infrastructure. It also allows him to focus on driving a solution to problems and issues that may arise. He has held technical responsibility for administration of various services including supporting highly critical SLA levels for 7x24 operations for Government Public Key Infrastructure and Privilege Management Infrastructure services. His work at BCE Emergis & CIBC has involved him in a wide range of project types from the setup of new custom Entrust, WebSphere, WebLogic applications while adhering to CSE Protected B Security protocols and leading development of new application flows and methods including future capacity planning for infrastructure that ranges from small intranets to internet infrastructure that supports the entire Canadian population.
